How to Run for Office workshop, October 19th
"Conceal Carry' Legislation:
The bulk of the bill - Act 35 - will go into effect November 1st, 2011; In order to prohibit concealed weapons on a business property, business owners or occupants must post a sign notifying persons of the restriction. The sign must be at least 5 inches by seven inches and be located in a prominent place near all of the entrances or all probable access points to the grounds or land to which the restriction applies.
The Government Affairs Committee works on tasks such as:
* Hosting a Legislative Update annually
* distribution of 2-3 Government Affairs Newspages per year
* host an annual 'How to Run for Public Office' workshop
* Distribute information about legislative issues that affect business
* Address issues with local government on behalf of our Members
