Sun Prairie Geocaching Challenge

Sun Prairie is proud to announce the Sun Prairie Geocaching Challenge! How it works:

1.       Obtain an official Sun Prairie Geocaching Challenge entry form at the front desk of a participating hotel or at the Chamber of Commerce during regular business hours. You can also print a copy of the entry form one of these two websites:

2.       Use your own handheld GPS device to find at least four of the six geocaches listed on the entry form. In order to find the geocache coordinates, you will need to join www.geocaching.com and create a team name. Membership is free and anyone can create their own geocaching team.

3.       Once you are at the appropriate coordinates, search to find the hidden geocache container.

4.       When you find the geocache container, sign the log book and file an electronic log on www.geocaching.com using your team name. You may even find coupons and other goodies in the geocache containers.

5.       Once you’ve found at least four of the six geocaches listed on the entry form, bring the completed form to the Chamber of Commerce during regular business hours or drop in the mail slot in the front door after hours (you can also mail the form to: 109 East Main Street, Sun Prairie, WI  53590 or, e-mail to spchamber(at)frontier.com).

Each month, the Chamber of Commerce will randomly select one geocaching team to win a $25 gift certificate donated by an area business. One grand prize winner will be announced in December 2011.

Program participation will be verified on www.geocaching.com.  Entries will be selected on an ongoing basis (meaning if your entry wasn’t selected in January, it might be picked in June). All entries are eligible for the grand prize drawing. Winning teams will be published on the Chamber of Commerce website (listed below).
